Dream Analysis

The spiritual quest and the psychological quest are essentially the same thing. It’s just a matter of personal taste, in that some people prefer to deduce their way to the Truth and others prefer to devote themselves to the Truth.

The psyche is the soul. The word psychology means ‘the study of the soul.’ But what is the soul? What does it want? Why do we ignore it and deny its reality? Why do we fear it and do all we can to bury its inexhaustible Self-expressions beneath addiction, ignorance, busyness, and misconceived desires?

It’s because when we turn to the soul, the first face it shows to us is our distortion. We see everything that is dark and everything that is essentially misguided about ourselves, and we recoil from the imperfection of it all. It’s easier to run away than it is to face ourselves.

Our dreams are the best way for us to make the inward journey, make amends with the disregarded soul, and take full responsibility for who we have become. In contrast with the inherent cowardice of running away, this is the blameless path of self-mastery.

For mysterious reasons, I have a gift for the practice, which I share with my clients in dream analysis. I like to work with people who are ready to face themselves, their past, their mental and psychological accretions, their complexes. There is no point in analyzing your dreams if you are not ready to incorporate the knowledge gained into a beneficial evolution of your day-to-day life.
